Sewing Books, Quilting Books and Fashion Books

I love browsing through sewing books, quilting books and fashion books. I even BUY a lot of them!

You too? Great!

If you have a daughter, granddaughter, or other young girl in your life who has an 18 inch doll such as American Girl, Our Generation, Madame Alexander (which is what I have)or one of many other 18 inch dolls available, this book may interest you. I know MY granddaughter thinks it's fun to have her American Girl doll dress like she's dressed.

I have not reviewed this book personally, but I have some of Joan Hinds other doll clothes books and I love them! In the books I have (The Contemporary Wardrobe and Today's Fashions for 18 inch dolls), the actual patterns for the doll clothes come included and its the same with this book. I find Joan's directions easy to follow with lots of pictures and her patterns make sense. An added bonus with this publication is that Nancy Zeiman collaborated on the book and the dvd regarding how to make matching outfits for your REAL girl.

Is your girl now a teenager? Here's a book for you to consider. Again, I have not reviewed it, but if you have a teen learning to sew or who already sews, this book might be something they would like to read. (They might actually think it IS cool!) Not sure your teen would use it? You can always check your local library first to see if they have a copy!

Now for my disclaimer.

I admit it. I have not read ALL these books, but I am recommending them because of reviews, what others have told me about them or because I personally have them in my sewing library.

YOU might be interested in adding these to YOUR library. No, you will not have to purchase if you click on the link. It will, however, allow you to read more information, see best prices and read other reviews about the book.

In the meantime, "Happy Reading and Happy Stitching!"
